The Howard government, was the incumbent government of Australia between 1996 and November 2007, when it was decisively booted out of office by the australian people (John Howard lost his seat) and replace by the Rudd Government. It was a far-right administration, and was anti- nearly everything that any left/enviro/social justice groups stand for.

Under howard, Australia was world renowned for it's Bush Administration-supporting, pro-war, anti-refugee, anti-indigenous, economic rationalist politics. It was pro Big Business, and all for the quick buck. Many members of it's government are influenced by far-right christian groups, such as the hillsong church, and as such the majority of them are anti-abortion, and anti-queer marriage.
